Anyone familiar with 20/20 Entertainment DJ Services, our DJ company, won’t be surprised by the faces behind Design In Colour; we are all still here.  We want to mirror, not only the success but the customer service of the DJ company.  We want to put our clients first and provide the best possible service we can.

For those of you unfamiliar with us, let me introduce ourselves.  We are a family based business, Shane and myself have a young son and we have been involved in the wedding industry through our successful DJ company, 20/20 Entertainment.   We recently planned our own wedding and it was during this process that we decided to take an idea we had for our DJ Company and expand it into a company onto its own.  I had a lot of fun deciding the ambience I wanted to create at our wedding, what colours to use, what flowers and other decorations and what lighting effects to use.  I wanted our personality to be reflective in the room and I think I accomplished that.

I may have been an unlikely choice for starting a wedding design company as I wasn’t one of those little girls dreaming of her own princess style wedding since I was young, but as I became more immersed in weddings on the DJing side, it became more and more interesting to me.  Rather than just sit there and critique other people’s work with what I’d do differently I decided to put my words into action.  I planned my own wedding, using colour to accent the already lovely location of the Geo Centre, with simple but elegant accessories.
The main concept of our company is colour thru LED lighting; colour on the head and guest tables in the form of under vase lighting or in vase lighting; colour accenting backdrops or under tables; colour washing the walls around the room.   Combine the accent lighting with chair covers and colourful sashes, with florals and beautiful backdrops.

Using our LED lighting fixtures, we can position lights at strategic locations, like behind the head table or under it, and also around the room, highlighting the wall or showing off the architectural details of the room.  The result called up-lighting brings colour around the room and can match the colour of your wedding decor.  Imagine walking into your reception hall and seeing the room bathed in the soft glow of blue light or red light or pink light or whatever your imagination desires.  It is easily customizable to suit whatever mood or atmosphere you are trying to create, and best of all, we can change it as the dinner goes on.  In fact, when the dance starts those stationary blue lights for example can start to move to the beat of the music or be switched to a slow colour blend.

With our wedding I decided to keep the blue glow on the walls all night.

My goal is to work with you to create something that reflects who you are, be it as traditional or non-traditional as you want.

Thanks!
